FR-201 Apli-Punto To Go
with Lyric Kinard

Painlessly create beautiful designs with intricate detail, perfect for wearables, blocks, borders or accents. Long flowing, curly borders or pictures with the sharpest points and thinnest lines imaginable are possible with this easy method using fusible web. Combine fabrics such as silk and wool for wearables or stick to your tried and true quilting cottons. Give your design that extra punch with the added dimension of trapunto . . . without all the slitting and stuffing!

FR-202 Bustle Bag
with Amber McAlister

​This bag is the perfect grab & go bag. It fits an overnight trip or a quilt retreat and is specifically designed to accommodate our lovely featherweight machines. You will learn to install a hidden zipper pocket and box bottoms, make a super strong handle, and add a swivel clasp for your keys.

FR-203 Easy Gradation Dying

​Learn to dye a 6-step gradation on white fabric and overdyed print fabric without a mess. Go home with over 2 yards of hand-dyed fabric.

FR-204 Fearless Paper Piecing
with Elizabeth Lawrence

This class is for those who have never paper pieced before or those who want to brush up and learn new techniques to make perfect star points in blocks that are truly sensational. You will learn how easy it is to perfectly match seams in units that are sewn together, a technique that works with regular piecing too. Patterns from very simple and basic to more complex designs will be available for every skill level.

FR-205 Pineapple Pizzazz
with Janice Joyner

The pineapple block dates to the 1930s in our country’s quilting history. Early pineapple blocks were constructed using cardboard templates. Next came pineapple foundation papers, and finally rulers were introduced to construct the blocks, thus eliminating templates and papers. During this class, you will learn how to use the Pineapple Trim Tool to construct the pineapple block. This is a great stash busting technique!

FR-206 Bead It Like You Mean It
with Lyric Kinard

​Add beads of all shapes and sizes to your quilts and wearable art, easily and after you are done quilting. Here’s the prize: no knots or mess on the back! Learn to embellish in a way that adds to the overall design instead of looking like an afterthought.

Students will create a small fabric collage on batting, learn different beading techniques, and choose to create a small art-quilt or a book cover. Techniques will also be taught for applying beads to clothing.

FR-207 Floral Fabric Fantasy
with Muff Fregia

Students will learn how to shade the flowers they cut out and to place them for maximum impact for their chosen design. Class includes a demo of machine finishing with monofilament thread.

FR-208 Hand Embroidery
with Janice Joyner

​Whether you are a beginner or need a refresher, this class will include choosing the best background, options for transferring the design, needles, threads, color tinting your embroidery, and 5 basic stitches.

​Hands-on arrangement and assembly of pre-cut pieces to make 40-inch square quilt top.

FR-210 The Log Cabin Goes Modern
with Elizabeth Lawrence

The log cabin quilt, first popular in the 1800s, has a new look! This class will introduce you to innovative, new, modern layouts. Along with learning techniques that will result in perfect log cabin blocks of various sizes, including curved blocks as shown in the “bird” layout, you’ll learn how color, shape, size, and arrange- ment variations dramatically change a given block lay- out. You will end up with several block designs that will become starting points for future projects.

FR-211 Lecture: Field to Fiber
with Trecia Spencer

Learn how our beautiful fabrics are made. We will talk about the process from cotton boll growth to fabric. You too will be able to find the fabrics for your heirloom project that will stand the test of time.
