Saturday 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM                  Cost - $60
ST- 301 Paint Your Shoes
with Lyric Kinard

​Turn a pair of leather or cloth shoes into a wearable work of art! Give new life to your favorite old pair of shoes by turning them into amazing piece of walkable art. Use textile paint, sharpies, and paint pens to create your own one-of-a-kind fancy footwear that will make your toes want to dance!

ST- 303 Thread Sketching to Thread Painting
with Lou Sikes

This class will explore the techniques of thread sketching versus thread painting. Applications will be important. A photo printed on fabric will be provided along with a kit with the necessary supplies.

ST- 303 Quilting with the Walking Foot 
with Shelley Winn

Don’t like free motion quilting? You can do more than stitch in the ditch with your walking foot. Learn to do curves, swirls, circles, matchstick, and even orange peel designs with your walking foot.

ST-309 Saturday Afternoon Sampler

Five teachers at separate tables around the Church of Christ offer continuous demonstrations of techniques and methods for enhancing your quilt making. Receive a handout from each teacher and circulate around the building.

ST- 305 Panel Cut-Ups
with Nancy Richburg

Learn to draft a patterns for any panel. Learn to make Flying Geese, Squares, Rectangle, Churn Dash, Pinwheels, Friendship Star, and Square in a Square and to incorporate these designs in drafting your pattern.

ST- 302 Disappearing Pinwheel Churn Dash
with Jill Craig

Start with a basic pinwheel block, cut it apart, sew it back together to create the churn dash. The pinwheel will reappear in the middle of the new block.

ST- 306 Quick Quilt
with Kerri Forrest

This reversible quilt project is perfect for a charity quilt or if you need a quick gift! It may take you longer to bind it than to sew it together. It is quilted as you go, and you will leave class with it ready for binding. Approximate size is 42 x 52 inches.

ST- 307 Lecture: Quilt Cleaning & Preservation
with Kathryn Burch

This lecture will include showing lots of quilts to show repairs and the results of proper washing and care. Students are asked to bring quilts that need cleaning or repairs in a white pillow case. We will discuss the options at the end of class.

ST- 307 Lecture: War Quilts- Past and Present
with Linda Fisher

Linda will discuss the different wars that America has been involved in, starting with the American Revolution, and the fabric designs, colors, patterns, and so forth that reflect those wars. She will be bringing example quilts, but audience members are encouraged to bring their own examples for discussion . The Quilts of Valor project will also be discussed: how it is organized, how to donate, and the 2019 OQS Quilts of Valor special exhibit.
